Godland
Icelandic director Hlynur Pálmason's drama Godland takes place at the end of the 19th century. The young, ambitious Lutheran priest Lucas is sent from Denmark to a remote part of Iceland to take over a parish. He takes a camera with him, modern for the time. It will be an arduous and dangerous journey into a barren and unforgiving landscape, and to a place where the reception is anything but welcoming. Will he succeed in his purpose even when morale fails, paranoia grows and everything heads towards disaster?
