About service
Who develops this service
Distribution license: Suomen Kirjastopalvelu Oy, which is part of Booky Group
The service is developed by Suomen Kirjastopalvelu Oy in cooperation with NorgesFilm AS.
The technological platform is developed by NorgesFilm AS.
The service provides public libraries with a digital film offer for its users. The films are selected by librarians at Kirjastopalvelu based on quality and variety criteria, and considering the principle of accessibility for all.
Considering the limitations that can exist concerning license agreements with film companies and distributors, our intention is, nonetheless to select the best films from all genres. We will continue working non-stop to increase the number of license agreements with operators and to be able to provide an ever more diverse offer. We prioritize Finnish and European quality films over the latest blockbuster, since our focus is for this service to be used as a complement to the existing commercial streaming offer. Subsequently, the intention of this service is not to present all the movies, but instead the thought-out selection that can even be hard to find anywhere else.
The service is intended for use in Finland. The activities of providers of audiovisual content services are regulated in Finland by the following bodies:
The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency
Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority
National Audiovisual Institute
