Orlando
Orlando, based on Virginia Wollfs' novel, is Sally Potter's captivating and award-winning movie from 1992 about a person who lives for 400 years, both as a man and as a woman. The story begins in the 1600s, and the young and handsome aristocrat Orlando is the Queen's favorite. We then follow Orlando for four centuries and in different countries, as man and woman, lover and mistress, as a poet and ambassador, and rich and poor. When the story reaches our days, Orlando is a conscious modern 1900s woman.
