The siblings Cemal, Kenan and Suzi have not seen each other for twenty years when the family was split up after the death of their mother. One day, their father contacts them and demands that they immediately return to the village where they grew up. Together they set off on a journey through the Turkish countryside and along the way they are forced to confront their memories, handle each other's peculiar personalities and try to rediscover the band that once united them. Butterflies have been nominated for prizes at several major film festivals and took home the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival 2018. Lisa Bergström at Kulturnytt in P1 calls the film "A surprising little gem".
