Dressed in a wig and with a riffle under his arm and a tape recorder under the other, robber Kaj Hansson (Ethan Hawke) steps into Kreditbanken and demands a million dollars, a similar car that Steve McQueen has in the movie Bullitt and that his good friend Gunnar Sörensson (Mark Strong) is released from prison. He also takes hostages. Among those affected are the mother of two, Bianca Lind (Noomi Rapace), who, despite the vulnerable situation, falls in love with Kaj.
